5 solutions on "Censorship on Social Networking sites"

Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal raised an important but hidden social issue urging social network company officers to screen religious and objectionable content. Socially conservative India already censors films and some books considered obscene or likely to stoke religious conflict. Thinking in deep, it has become necessary to control abusive and offensive content being uploaded and shared over internet through social networking sites.

According to a recent report published by comScore, it has been estimated that social networking accounts for at least 24 percent of the time spent online by the users around the world. This is the reason why we have to sit and think on "Censorship on social networking sites"

After Mr. Sibal, Baan Ki-moon (Secretary-General of the United Nations) and Delhi high court took the matter seriously. Theoretically, it is easy to make rules and control the content. But practically, it is only impossible to control  all social networking sites and also impossible to scan each and every photo/word/video.

Specialists are analyzing the situation and making statements on this censorship but no one is coming with exact solution. Here we are doing the same. If you have any other opinion or solution, post it in comment. Lets solve this matter with Social networking

1."Report Abuse" Button
Information submitted through "Report Abuse" button should be taken seriously and appropriate action should be taken by respective Social networking company.

2. Pornographic Content
Pornographic content should be strictly made adult and case sensitive.

3. Religious content
Control over Religious content should be handled by social networking site on their level. (e.g. Facebook can allow some religious content in 'Closed Group')

4. Politically offensive content
There should not be any censorship over politically offensive content because such content is the reflection of people on Government services. However, "Report Abuse" button can be used to remove any vulger content.

5. Cyber laws
Strict implementation of Cyber Laws is required to be done.
