"Ancient British Raj India" photos found in Scotland (RCAHMS)

     Recently, 'Yahoo! India' published 22 black and white photos portraying British Raj India's life style. According to yahoo portal, a total of 178 negatives were found in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is cheerful opportunity to look behind onto India during British Raj. Though there is no information about photographer, efforts are being taken to find out his or her identity. The negatives found were wrapped in The statesman newspaper of 1914 and stored in 5" x 8"plate boxes.

     To save your time, I have collaborated photos in various bunch. Let's have a look over them;

Beautiful Temple (Sorry, dont have reference)

 British officers and their family members enjoying Badminton

 The celebrations for the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Calcutta in 1912 with the city's buildings all lit up.

Pilgrims gathered for a religious festival; merchants selling their wares outside the Jagannath temple in Orissa

Short review:
1. Watching this photos, I feel that people were more satisfied and enjoying their lifestyle. Today, we have covered with no. of dieseases, social and security problems.
2. Thing to note down here is that you will not see Plastic pollution anywhere else. we must think on this point and try to minimize Plastic pollution.
3. The British did great things in India. Some of their implemented works (like railways) do service even today. Ethics of people then in 1914 and now in 2012 can be must be upside down. Hope is not lost.

These photos might change the mindset of today's Indians.
