God of Cricket, Vikramaditya Sachin Tendulkar created another recordon thursday. This time, he made record in Indian political history. President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil approved Rajya Sabha recommendation
for Sachin Tendulkar, according to the reports. Tendulkar become members of Parliament under article 80 of the Constitution which provides nomination of persons having special knowledge or practical experience in matters such as literature, science, art and social service that allows the President of India to nominate 12 members to the Upper House. Sachin would be the first active sportsperson and a cricketer to be nominated to Rajya Sabha.
Eternal beauty of Bollywood Rekha is also nominated for the same status. In the past, several film personalities like Hema Malini, Vyjayantimala, Nargis Dutt, Lata Mangeshkar and Sivaji Ganesan have been nominated. 57 year old Rekha was one
of the top heroines of the 1980s decade in Hindi films and and had won several
national awards for her acting.
Thursday morning (26 April 2012), Sachin visited congress president Sonia Gandhi along with his wife Anjali. They spent about half an hour with Mrs. Gandhi. Sonai personally wanted to congratulate Sachin on occasion of achieving 100 centuries in international cricket.
