India, being an IT hub for the world is leaving its footsteps in various new trends in Information Technology. Nowadays, trends like Blogging are becoming popular in India. Tremendous enhancement in computer and internet is helping to aware people about this new and full-fledged market. Lot of websites give platform to write a blog providing an opportunity to earn money. People, going a step ahead, started building their own blog site and becoming self employed. According to the poll conducted by CNN IBN in association with NIIT, in 2008, blogging was voted as the hottest alternative career.
Though, looking an instant money generating machine, it’s not easy to create your own identity over globe space. It requires lot of patience with you. In my sense, four basic qualities of blogger are excellent writing skills, originality of content, topic consistency, and creativity of expression. It’s not mandatory to have all above qualities with you while starting a blog. Once started blogging, one can build them with his or her experience.
As far as world of Indian blogging is concerned, Blogging in India is not yet developed. It is now in teenage stage where thousands of Indians write a blog daily, but they can’t hold Indian audience as their prime visitors. Unlike other developed countries, India is having unbalanced publisher and visitor market stat. A few professional bloggers like Amit Agarwal of ‘Digital Inspiration’ and some organisations like ‘Indiblogger’ are spreading awareness by organising various social events. Amit Agarwal, India’s first professional blogger, is inspiration for many Indians including me. My blog ‘YoursPJ’ is running successfully because of their publishing and marketing tips. Every day, lot of people are turning themselves as blogger, some of them are hobby blogger while some are professional one.
With reference to Blogschool.in report, 44% of all bloggers are parents, 70% have college degrees, two-thirds are male and 50% of them lie in the 18-34 age group. A new blog is created somewhere in the world every half a second. That goes on to prove how popular blogging is on the Internet.
Blogging is most versatile industry as it contains information related to every field. Information regarding technology, business and corporate world, bollywood, fashion industry, politics, scientific news, social events, environment awareness, sports updates, cooking can be obtained through blogging. Lets take an example of a cooking blog, if you are fond of cooking and want to share cooking tips and recipes, you can share your ideas and make your own group of food lovers, sharing their experiences on recipes. Blog host providers like Blogger.com (powered by Google), Wordpress (supported by Microsoft), Typepad and Tumbler are available as starting point for beginners.
Looking overall, future of Indian Blogging industry is undoubtedly bright. Implementation of ‘Internet censorship’ in our country is result of our growth also an inspiration to write against corruption and express our thoughts on various political and social happenings.
