Madhuri Dixit in Legendary role ‘Shyamchi Aai’

Famous author and social activist Sane Guruji’s autobiography “Shyamchi Aai”, a piece of pride in Marathi literature, is again growing topic of film industry. After 1953’s film made by Acharya Atre, Mahesh Manjrekar is interested to make latest copy of the film.

The movie is in news due to lead role Madhuri Dixit. Recently, Madhuri reportedly expressed her interest in Marathi movie having strong script. We wonder what can be stronger than ‘Shyamchi Aai’?

At present, Madhuri Dixit-Nene is doing comeback with Dedh Ishqiya (sequel of Ishquia), When asked to Mr. Manjrekar about this project, he passionately said, “Shyamchi Aai is equivalent in Marathi literature to Pearl S Buck's The Good Earth. I've longed to make a film based on it for very long. I can't see anyone but Madhuri in that role."

Story of Shyamchi Aai moves around central character, Shyam's mother and shows her love for Shyam and her enormous influence on Shyam's life. Story-base belongs to Konkan Brahmin family of rural Maharashtra during British Raj. Sane Guruji, fondly called Shyam during his childhood, is narrating his memories to a group of children in a nightly sitting.

I have personally enjoyed reading ‘Shyamchi Aai’ book in my childhood. As a true lover this book, I wish Madhuri to sign this film. Lets wait for next news update.
